What is Travelerge.com? When you, the TRAVELER, combine the resource tool Google Earth (GE) with the booking capability of TRAVELOCITY.COM, you have TRAVELERGE.COM. We have taken information that may require multiple site and tour books for many popular tourist destinations across the United States and have combined them into an easy-to-use format with the use of Google Earth. What separates our site from the others is our specialized VIRTUAL TOUR. When you are ready, you can access our City Tour Page and begin your destination adventure with a quick trip around the area. This will be done using Google Earth and the area attractions will already be turned on for you. Once you have become familiar with the destination's layout, it's time to begin planning your personal trip. All placemarks for that destination have been stored in a destination folder which will currently be placed in your "Temporary Folder" of Google Earth. The folder can be expanded to reveal all the placemarks of your destination. Features such as attractions, lodging, transportation and dining can be easily turned on or off for viewing purposes. When you are ready to visit a site, simply double click it's name in the folder or click on it's placemark in the map viewer. A dialog box will appear which may show a site photograph, address, telephone number, nearest subway or light rail station and website. Once you have decided that this may be a destination you may consider on your next trip, simply right-click on it's name in the folder, select "copy", scroll down to "My City Vacation" and place in the appropriate subfolder. This allows for a clean filing place of YOUR SELECTED destinations. Once you have "visited" your destination, be sure to save your information to the "My Places" folder of Google Earth. You can simply save the entire destination by selecting "File" then "Save to My Places" or save just a subfolder by selecting the subfolder then following the same procedure. Once you have these items saved, you can use them again for future reference including using the Google Earth to determine driving directions. Once you have determined your travel itinerary, you can use the "compare prices" feature found by clicking on any of the lodging placemarks or on our website and the "compare flights" feature found by clicking on any airport placemarks or on our website. This will launch you into Travelocity.com and compare rates for various airlines and lodging. Feel free to jump back and forth to determine where the hotels are in relation to your destinations. You can also book vacation packages, cruises and rental cars. We at Travelerge.Com thank you for your patronage.
